Just another day.

Today started off okay, woke up way earlier than I would have liked because Minnie decided she needed to go to the bathroom and to hell with the time of the morning it was. I guess it's to be expected with the fact that she's so used to me having to get up for work during the work week at 4:15 in the morning. Anyway, managed to drag myself out of bed, got a good workout in and then proceeded to go about my day as if that was my intentional time of awakening.

Then I had some leftover pizza for lunch, worked on some episodes of Heartland (I'm nearly finished with all of the final season :( ). I only hope that it ends on a good note! I don't want to have to worry about drying my eyes if I'm bawling. Anyway, nothing too exciting happened other than that.

I did however get lucky enough to start talking to a girl. We have a lot in common and have been chatting away the past day or two. It's a lot of fun to talk to her and she's gorgeous to boot, has a great smile and seems to really enjoy talking to me. I'm curious to see where things go and just go with the flow.

Oh and it rained today, Minnie hated it and made it really fun trying to take her outside to go to the bathroom this afternoon/evening.

Work personalities clash....sometimes.

Hey guys!

Today would have been a good day, started off as a good day. It was my Friday, last day of work before my three day weekend. Then it started going downhill on the drive into work, traffic was atrocious with the snow causing everyone to be cautious and drive slow. Understandable and completely appropriate given the circumstances.

Got into work and it just spiraled downhill after that.

We were behind and spent most of the day being swamped and playing catch-up. Then, of course, because it's work, people can't just do their jobs, they have to bring their personal, petty differences with them. Apparently, I was a target for non-stop joking today. I have no problem joking with someone if I know them and have had back-and-forth banter with them before so that I know what they're comfortable with and what they're not. Yep, not how today went down.

Then I was hoping to do something tonight so I kind of put my plans on hold while I waited for them to give me a definitive answer.

Did they?

No.

So now, I'm spending my time laying on the couch snuggling Minnie and watching Netflix for lack of certainty on anything I really want to do.

Sunday Snow and Super Bowl

So, today turned out to be exactly as I expected. It wasn't snowing very hard this morning when I left for work; but, it didn't wait long after I got there to start coming down with a vengeance. The roads and highways were passable until I got closer to work and then I had a couple of fish tails; but, luckily I've got experience driving in snow and I was able to handle it without concern and there wasn't any traffic to be concerned about. The snow was pretty relentless throughout the day though and there had to be at least an inch or two of accumulation by the time I was finally off work.

The drive home wasn't horrible, which was surprising; but, I guess because it's Sunday and a lot of people are off work or at home with preparations for parties for the Super Bowl tonight, that there wasn't a lot of traffic to contend with. Still had to weave around a few people who were driving probably 30-40 mph on the highway. I understand the desire to be cautious; but, at the same time if there's visibility and the road conditions appear fine, try to at least drive the minimum legal speed limit.

Anyway, Minnie still hates the snow. Made me think about my old Aussie that I used to own before she passed away. Girl used to love fresh snow and would pounce on it and wouldn't come in until we made her and then we'd have to take the time to make sure we dried her paws off because they would literally be covered in ice. Minnie, on the other hand, she hates so much as stepping foot in snow and will throw a fit when I make her do so. Which makes it really nice when it's really, really cold out and she's in and out in under five minutes.

Anyway, for those of you watching the Super Bowl tonight, feel free to leave a comment with who you think is going to win and after the game is over, what you thought of the half-time show or your favorite commercials, which let's be honest, is the best part of the whole thing!

Bouts of Loneliness Consume Me

Hello everyone!

It's way past time for me to write another one of these entries. As many of you regulars know and for those I haven't told, I was seeing a girl for a few dates, thought things were going really well and then she told me out of the blue that she didn't sense the spark she was looking for between us and ended things to avoid wasting both our times. I hadn't realized how much I had opened up to her until she ended it and I realized that I missed being able to cuddle with her. Do I know if it was love? No. Do I know that it felt really, really good to cuddle with her on the couch and do nothing but stare at each other? Yes. The worst part is she is literally the third girl I've kissed, haha. I seem to have a running trend of either scaring women off or doing something subconsciously to make them wary of pursuing things between us further.

The worst part?

I kept wondering the whole time we were dating if it was the right time to kiss her. I kept thinking back to all of the blogs, tips, etc I'd read as well as the advice my friends imparted upon me about not kissing on the first date despite the desire to do so when I hugged her. I kept thinking that maybe I didn't show her that I was really interested or was sending her mixed signals. I'm new to a lot of the dating ins and outs and it's hard for me to open up and express myself sometimes. I don't think some girls understand just how hard it is for me to kiss them. It's not that I don't want to; but, it's like there's massive wall constructed in my mind that keeps me from kissing, touching, etc despite wanting to. It's a pain in the butt and I'm working on it as I'm able to.

Anyway, since the end of things, I've been feeling very lonely lately. I know there's ways to fix that and I have Minnie so I should be fine, right? I thought so too at first. Turns out that once I had a taste of the cuddles that I had with the girl, I want more. I want to come home to someone and snuggle with them on the couch, burrow under the covers with Minnie snuggling on top of us and watch movies or TV. I tried going out with some friends this past weekend and I thought that would help; but, it turned out to be more a bore as we didn't really do much of anything.

Anyway, it helped to write this so I'm going to try to be more proactive on the site and in keeping up with my blogs.

Thanks for reading!
